  Hands-on Wetland Creation Workshop. Participants will help design and restore ephemeral wetlands on Cape Cod using the groundwater and surface water techniques for the rare eastern spadefoot and other wildlife species.

Making the commitment to green existing schools across a campus or district requires a comprehensive plan that integrates two processes: one focused on how each school facility will improve building performance and another on adopting sustainable operations and maintenance policies and best practices. The LEED for Existing Buildings: Operations & Maintenance rating system provides a concise framework for identifying and implementing practical and measurable green solutions. These web trainings help school and district staff organize efforts around sustainability initiatives using this framework.

Each training addresses specific steps and strategies that can be put in place by educators, parents and staff to green existing school facilities. We recommend printing out the first page of the accompanying Companion Guide to help focus your thoughts while watching the chosen training.

CLIF Kid $10,000 Educational Scholarship

 
I wanted to make sure you saw last week's announcement about the opportunity for kids in your community to win a $10,000 educational scholarship through this year's CLIF Kid� Backyard Game of the Year Contest.

For the fourth year in a row, the Children & Nature Network was selected by CLIF Kid as their Outdoor Play Partner for the annual CLIF Kid Backyard Game of the Year Contest. Their goal for the contest is to inspire kids to balance screen time with creative play in nature.
