Dear Parents,

During Lent we hear the word "Sacrifice" used often. The meaning of this word is " an act of giving up something valued for the sake of something else regarded as more important or worthy." Jesus did this for us when He died on the cross. Let us truly try to make sacrifices for Jesus.

What can we do in our lives to show the Lord that we know and love Him. It only takes one gesture of kindness that can make a difference in someone's life. It does not need to be
something big.

A smile, kind word, holding the door, asking someone how they are doing, offering to help with something...these seem like everyday things to do. No one knows what is happening in someone's life on any given day or what they have on their mind that is troubling them.  An act of kindness no matter how big or small goes a long way.

During Lent let us try to be kinder to each other and spread that kindness to those in need as well.

Quote from Pope Francis:

"Lent is a new beginning, the path leading to the certain goal of Easter, Christ's victory over death."

Faithfully yours,

Miss Giaquinto
