New Officials Institutes Resume February 3rd in Stillwater
On February 3rd in Stillwater, OML will host a New Officials Institute at the OSU Alumni Center. Throughout the year OML provides an intensive educational program specifically tailored for newly elected and appointed officials as well as experienced officials who want to keep up-to-date on municipal issues.

The NOI teaches the statutorily required topics such as Municipal Budget Requirements, the Oklahoma Open Meeting Act, the Oklahoma Open Records Act, Ethics, Procedures for Conducting Meetings, Conflict of Interest, and Purchasing Procedures

State law requires each person elected for the first time to a position of a municipality on or after January 1, 2005, OR appointed for the first time on or after July 1, 2006, to attend an institute for municipal officials. The statute is codified at Title 11 O.S., Section 8-114.   For future dates or more information, see the  NOI page on our website .

You don't have to be newly elected to attend. Everyone is welcome! If you have any questions, please contact  Sarah Lingenfelter at OML.

Community Leadership Development Class
What are your 2018 New Year Goals? Put joining the 2018/2019 Community Leadership Development (CLD) class at the top of your list!

This is a yearlong  program designed to equip participants with the skills and information they need to make a positive impact on local community and economic development. Class members in the Community Leadership Development program learn valuable skills in the areas of teamwork, community assessment and planning, economic development and tourism, and community renewal.

There are six class sessions and each one is held in a different city or town, hosted by one of our member cities/towns. This is a great opportunity to learn leadership skills, network with other municipal professionals and see what is going on in other communities.
