DEC recently began testing the new system that provides a wireless broadband network for the exclusive use of public safety officials. FirstNet has created a video featuring Richmond's use of the system, featuring some of our staff.

New public relations committees hold first meetings
Two new committees kicked off with meetings in January: DEC's PR committee and the Capital Region Text-to-911 PR committee. The Text-to-911 committee is working on a public education campaign to inform all Capital Region residents of how and when to use text-to-911. The DEC PR committee is working on creating a positive public view of DEC. Everyone is welcome to offer ideas and suggestions!
