NIU Steel Band Concert This Saturday!

Steel Band Concert! The Northern Illinois Steel Band is coming to Peace for a concert this  Saturday evening, March 3 at 7:00 pm. This award-winning group is one of the top steel bands in the world! Please put this exciting event on your calendar. Tickets are available now, $15 for adults, $7 for youth 18 and under, $40 for family tickets. Women's Spiritual Renewal Workshop March 10

Our workshop, led by Julie Roys, promises to be an encouraging time! Julie's recently published book, "Redeeming the Feminine Soul" will be the basis for our day. She will dive into Scripture and facilitate our discussion as we discover God's design for womanhood and the surprising, empowering message Scripture holds for women of all ages. 

Tickets are $35 per person and includes continental breakfast and lunch. Check-in and breakfast  at 8 am.

Coins For CareNet
Beginning This Sunday...
CareNet is one of the missions supported by the Peace congregation. For over 35 years, CareNet has been bringing love and compassion to anyone impacted by an unplanned pregnancy, in addition to providing other support and counseling.


Please stop by the display in the Lobby on Sunday and take a baby bottle to fill and find out more about this amazing ministry.

Men of Peace Breakfast March 10

Our monthly breakfast is coming up on Saturday, March 10 at 8:00 am. CareNet is our March "mission of the month," and Dimitra Cornwell will be our guest speaker. She will give us a bit of background on what CareNet does, and share some wonderful personal stories of what God is doing through this excellent ministry. Chef Jim will prepare a delicious and nutritious breakfast. Call a friend and bring them along!

Flower Fundraiser Deadline March 7

Please support the High School Flower Fundraiser to raise funds for their upcoming mission trip to Erie PA this July. The deadline to order flowers is Wednesday, March 7. Return completed forms along with full payment to the 'Protis" mailbox.

Adult Ed Study March 4 & 11

Join us for Adult Ed on March 4 & 11 at
9:30 am as we look at "Creation, Evolution, and Biblical Inerrancy."


We will be viewing and discussing a panel discussion by the Reasons To Believe staff where they touch on subjects that are potential stumbling blocks for believers and non-believers alike.

Do you have a plan for your growth in faith?  Or do you expect that just to happen on its own?  Join us the Wednesdays in Lent for Pastor Marty's series " Basic Training" , and learn how to add intentional  spiritual disciplines to your walk with the Lord.
Lenten Services begin at 7:15 pm through March 21.

Take the night off from cooking and join us for dinner Wednesday nights from 6-7 pm in the Lobby before the Lenten worship service. See you there!

Can you help? We are looking for helpers with our Lenten Dinner on Wednesday, March 7.  A sign-up sheet is located in the Lobby on the Events Counter.  Please consider signing up to bring a food item or to help serve that evening.  We have Sloppy Joes and side dishes on the menu.  For more information, please contact Katherine Richards.
Make A Blanket For World Vision March 5

Join the Ladies of LWML on  Monday, March 5 at 7:00 pm  to continue creating no-sew blankets for World Vision. If you find a blanket kit that would serve adults or children, please feel free to bring it to the meeting. All supplies for making blankets are provided. A devotion and light refreshments will be available, as well. We will meet in the Library. Please contact Nancy Ewert at  630.234.7130  if you can join us.
Easter Care and Share Clothing Drive

Our Easter Care & Share event will be held on  Saturday, March 24. We are collecting clean, gently-worn Spring and Summer clothes and shoes, reading books for children ages 5-10 years, and cleaning  supplies for the 42 families. Please check the Care & Share poster in the Lobby for slips for purchasing cleaning supplies. Books and cleaning supplies may be placed in the gray bins in the Lobby.  Clothing and shoes may be placed in the Peace trailer which is parked in the main lot. 
Donations accepted through March 18.

Kudos to the People of Peace for Living Generously!  

18 fleece blankets were hand made, and 9 diaper backpacks were completely filled - all for foster children as they are placed in new homes by Lutheran Social Services of Illinois.  Several additional blankets were made for the LWML World Relief project.  Thanks to all who gave of their time, talent, and treasure to complete this Thrivent Action Project
sponsored by Women's Evening Bible Study (WEBS).
