A Message from the Principal

Dear Parents:

This is the time of year that CCHS starts to plan for the 2018-19 school year.  In the beginning of February, students will be provided information about course selection for the coming school year.  During the week of  February 5, we will have class assemblies to go over this process and provide students with worksheets to help them select courses.  We will also send home all of the necessary forms for the 2018-19 school year.

I will be providing you with updated information and more details in the coming weeks.  I ask that you continue to keep an eye on your emails as all directions for course selection come though email.  All forms for 2018-19 registration and a $300 fee will be due on February 23.  Please feel free to reach out to me with any questions.

Heather Crisci
Principal
Financial Aid Deadline Jan. 15
Please be sure to apply for financial aid by  January 15, 2018. Financial aid is awarded ONLY to those who apply and show need. FACTS accepts tax paperwork from the previous year.
Exam Reminder
Students will begin preparation for midterm examinations this week. These assessments count for twenty percent of the semester grade, and should be approached seriously.  The midterm examination schedule is as follows:
January 23: Social Studies and English
January 24: Language and Religion
January 25: Science and Math

Each day we will follow a similar schedule . The first exam will start at 8:25. The second exam will start at 10:05. Dismissal will be at 11:30. Students who have already qualified for extended time accommodations will receive separate instructions.

Students should make every effort to be in school each day for Midterms. Only an absolute emergency should keep a student from taking the midterm exam on the scheduled day. Parents should call the attendance office by 8:00 AM any day an emergency prevents a student from taking the exam.  Make-up exams will be given on January 26, 2018.
EXAM STUDY SESSIONS
NHS Midterm Exam Study Sessions: Wednesday, January 17th and Thursday, January 18th in the Information Commons from 6pm to 8pm.
Support the Arts at CCHS:
Anything Goes Ad & Patron Drive
One of Camden Catholic's most proud traditions is the annual spring musical. This year the department is pleased to present Anything Goes! We are always blessed with the support of so many during the Ad & Patron Drive. Please consider purchasing an ad in the program to support this production and congratulate the many students who spend countless hours to make it a success.

From the Office of Student Affairs

Parking:  As a reminder, s tudents who request permission to drive to school must do the following
  • Return the completed Student Parking Agreement and Vehicle Registration Form and pay the $50.00 parking fee to the Office of Student Affairs.  The fee will be 25.00 at the beginning of the second semester.
  • Park in their assigned parking spot.  Display their hangtag on their rear view mirror.
  • Observe the 15 mph speed limit in the parking lot and maintain safe driving habits at all times.
Students who park on school grounds without purchasing a parking space will be issued 5 demerits and must follow the above parking procedures.  Additionally, students who do not comply with the Parking Lot regulations may receive demerits, be towed at owner's expense, or lose their parking lot privileges.

Parking Lot Reminder:   The morning student drop off has been going very smoothly. Please continue to use the parent drop off lane in the rear of the building to drop off students in the morning to ensure the safety of all students.  Please pull forward to the top of the lane so that traffic does not back up into the side parking lot.  Students should not exit parent driven vehicles in the travel or bus lanes of the student parking area; this jeopardizes the safety of the students.

Note:  For safety reasons, students are not allowed to loiter in the parking lot in morning or in the afternoon.  Failure to comply with this directive, may result in the student lose of their parking lot privileges.

SENIOR REMINDERS:
College Application Transcript Requests
Just a reminder that there is a fee charged for transcripts sent to colleges.  The first 3 are free, additional transcripts are $2 each.  Please monitor Naviance for fees.  Students can submit payment to the guidance office.
College Acceptances
Seniors should be bringing in all acceptance emails, letters, scholarships etc.  They should be brought to Mrs. Powell in the Guidance Office and we will make copies to keep in their file.
From the Nurse's Office
Parents are reminded that all Juniors need a physical.  Please schedule appointments if physicals haven't been returned yet and return completed forms to the nurse's office.

If a sports physical becomes a year old during a sport season, there is a 10-day grace period from the date of the last physical to obtain a new one.  If no physical is returned at the end of the 10-day grace period, the athlete must sit out of sports until a new physical is returned and cleared.  If possible, a courtesy reminder will be sent from the nurse's office, but as noted in the student handbook, it is the responsibility of the student/parent to ensure sports physicals are current.

Please contact Mrs. Veneziani in the nurse's office with any questions.
