NGSS honors and develops bright, civic-minded, environmentally literate citizens in schools and communities. Students in grades k-12 develop their passion for preserving the environment, while improving schools and communities through environmental service, leadership, and activism. Students from around the country have the opportunity to apply to graduate with an honor distinction from NGSS if they have performed more than 100 hours of environmental service, environmental education, project-based learning, and community engagement. NGSS is recognized by the following organizations:

| Check Out This Fun Way to Engage Kids On The Science of Climate Change |
| 
To get youth thinking about greenhouse gasses have them explore how 1.5 billion cows on Earth farts are increasing the methane in our atmosphere. How does that hamburger they love so much impact our climate? Methane is more powerful heat-trapping gas than carbon dioxide. The book Climate Change: Discover How It Impacts Spaceship Earth uses cool concepts, observations, STEM activities and stories to tell about Change.

Climate Generation: A Will Steger Legacy is excited to announce a unique opportunity for educators to participate in the
Educators that are selected will join thousands of individuals from around the world in observing UN climate change negotiations. In addition to the official UN events, there will be side events, a People's Climate Conference and other events hosted by the NGO community and city of Paris to attend. Educators that apply will be eligible to attend the official negotiations or NGO events based on quotas provided by the UN this fall.
If you are an educator and interested in applying for this opportunity please visit the
Climate Generation website for more information and requirements to apply.
Applications due by June 17, 2015. Your application does not guarantee selection, nor does it bind you to attending. Participants will be notified of their acceptance by June 20 and need to accept invitation by July 1, 2015.

A professional development and networking opportunity for the sharing of creative and practical ideas for "greening" your school's curriculum and day-to-day operations!
Who should attend?
If you are interested in learning how to make your school communities greener, then this conference is for you! Educators, school administrators and staff, middle, high school and college students, parents, community members, and environmental professionals interested in green schools.
What happens at Learn Green?
Opening ceremony and keynote address, followed by 70+ concurrent educational sessions, dynamic exhibit hall highlighting green programs, products and services, unique "ecochic" boutique, fabulous giveaways, and healthy and delicious lunch with live music.
