I hope your New Year is off to a good start! I'm ready for spring already but for now I'll settle for bundling up with some good music on tap. The Grammys are being held earlier this year (Jan. 28th) in New York City's Madison Square Garden, so I guess Dallas' weather is attempting to prepare me. See below for more details.

SAMMONS CABARET & CABERNET
Mike Bogle will be featured
Beginning with a wine tasting, this semi-annual evening of fine music and fine wine is highlighted by a cabaret singer showcase with more than ten of the DFW area's top vocalists. Each singer performs one song with several accompanied by the popular Larry Petty Combo. Reserved tables of eight guests cost $500 and reserved tables of six guests cost $400 (sold out). Admission for all guests includes the wine tasting, cabaret showcase, light appetizers, beer, soft drinks, coffee, water, and valet parking. Table hosts also receive a one-year Sammons Cabaret membership at the Nite Club level, a gift certificate for two tickets to a Sammons Cabaret, and a CD by a local cabaret artist.

Arranging, Keyboard Ensemble, Synthesis, MIDI I and II at
Cedar Valley College
, of the Dallas County Community College District.
The new on-line MIDI I course is in its second semester. Think about enrolling in the future. Spring 2018 semester starts Jan. 16th.

It's almost Grammy time again ...
This year the 60th Grammy Awards are being held in New York City which will be a change from Los Angeles. James Corden will be hosting for the second year in a row. The televised show will be airing live at 6:30-10PM CT on CBS. The pre-telecast Premiere Ceremony will take place earlier at 2PM CT inside the Theater at Madison Square Garden and will be available to watch live by visiting Grammy.com or CBS.com. The Red Carpet special telecast will air at 5:30PM CT, also on CBS or the same websites.
You may recall that Mike was among the semi-finalists for the Music Educator Award. While Mike is no longer in the running we look forward to learning who will go home with that fairly new and prestigious award. We hope you will watch along with us. We will be taking a lot of photos to share with you via social media and upon our return.
