Our Ballard
BA1  ONLY 134 DAYS UNTIL BALLARD SEAFOODFEST BUT WE ARE NOT COUNTING OR ANYTHING
- Sponsorship Opportunities Available Now! -
Each year hand-selected wood from Alder trees in the North Cascades is carefully felled, salmon are caught from Trident fishing vessels, sand is laid in the street and our friends over at Pacific Fishermen's Shipyard haul their BBQ smokers to 22 nd Avenue, as the Occidental Lodge #72 members and our friends from Ballard Oil Company gather together to create a salmon barbecue like no other.

It began 44 years ago as a neighborhood picnic and Ballard SeafoodFest is coming back again this year on July 13 - 15 th . There will be lots of amazing music, arts & craft booths, excellent local craft beverages, fun for kids, great seafood and other treats, a Lutefisk eating contest and that infamous smoked salmon barbecue that started it all.

This event happens each year because the neighborhood comes together with their support, businesses sponsor, and hundreds of people volunteer their time and talent with a common goal - to throw the best darn block(s) party this side of town has ever experienced!

Our staff and committee of volunteers plan this event year-round and it will be here before you know it. We look forward to sharing the different opportunities to participate over the next few months.

First, we have opened up our sponsorship opportunities. There are a number of different sponsorship levels to fit your specific needs and are outlined in our Sponsorship Guide. Please contact Mike Stewart if you are interested in learning more about our sponsorship opportunities. Our strong community partners are the reason this event is 44 years strong and we are so grateful to all our returning sponsors and look forward to creating new partnerships as well.

Secondly, our Arts & Crafts and food booth spaces have been filling up quickly and we look forward to sharing that lineup with you in the coming months. If you are interested in learning more about our vendors or becoming one please contact Devin Reynolds.

Ozzie's International Lutefisk Eating contest will be returning this year with prizes and bragging rights for the winner. If you plan on entering as a contestant, now is the time to start your training. Please feel free to contact Anndrea Dohring and share your email if you would like to receive messages about this event.

Lastly, our MainStage lineup is almost finalized and we look forward to sharing our headliner band and all the great musical talent over the next couple of months. Please stay tuned to this newsletter and our social media pages @visitballard @BallardSeafoodFest to find out who is going to rock in Ballard this summer.

Be sure to mark your calendars and tell your friends to come to Ballard on July 13 th through the 15 th , 2018!

Join us for the first Ballard Alliance Breakfast on March 14th at 8:00-9:30 a.m. This month enjoy a delicious and warm Hattie's Hat breakfast and connect with other members while we welcome our guest speaker, Kyla Shkerich Blair, Business Liaison to Mayor Jenny Durkan.

Please contact Anndrea Dohring with any questions.

FUN FACT: Did you know that the Ballard businesses:
Stoll Petteys PLLC, Lucky Envelope Brewing and The Noble
Fir are owned by Georgetown University Alumni?
On April 12-15th, Georgetown's annual gathering of 1,000+ alumni, parents, friends, and faculty, John Carroll Weekend (JWC), will be hosted in Seattle. This will mark the first time in its 66 year history that the weekend of intellectual, social, and cultural events will be hosted in the Pacific Northwest. The host committee is in the thick of planning four special days that will highlight the best of the Pacific Northwest.

One of the most anticipated aspects of each JCW are the 500 gift bags provided to guests. These popular bags feature items that compliment the region and theme of the host city. Items selected for the gift bags offer excellent brand exposure among the University's most high-profile and distinguished alumni. Aside from the marketing exposure, sponsors receive recognition within the website, pocket guide, gala program, and JCW mobile app. Sponsors are also highlighted during the John Carroll Awards Gala.  JCW will have many alumni visiting the Ballard neighborhood, so in addition to gifts for the bags, promotional items and coupons would work as well.

If you have an interest in donating a small token to the gift bags or would like to learn more, please contact Eric Stoll.

The Ballard ArtWalk keeps growing and we wanted to say thank you to all our wonderful local business that host artists each month.

The next Ballard ArtWalk is on March 10th from 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. A venue that joined us last month after the Grand Re-opening of their store at 2607 NW Market Street (next to the New Nordic Museum) is Le Merde.  Le Merde  will feature art from the very talented  Kirk Yamahira.

If you have any questions regarding this event please contact  Devin Reynolds , check out our social  event page  or go to our  website  at  www.visitballard.com/ArtWalk.
