SPOTLIGHT
Tell cancer to take a hike!
If Kilimanjaro is too far for you, we are introducing:

Kili chez nous!

Join us for this exciting new fundraiser benefiting Hope & Cope.
Beginning in March 2018, we are offering 10 monthly hikes, with varying levels of difficulty and a variety of locations. These carefully selected hikes were chosen not just for hiking enthusiasts, but for anyone who loves the outdoors. All you need is the motivation to help us kick cancer one stride at a time. Challenge yourself right here at home and discover the beautiful mountains and breathtaking scenery chez nous - the Laurentians, the Eastern Townships, Lanaudière and Charlevoix!
You may participate in as few or as many hikes as you wish, as long as you commit to raising a minimum of $2,000 per person or $3,000 per household.
To sign up, visit  Kili chez nous!

Continued involvement of Suzanne O'Brien

With a new year there comes new goals and resolutions and along with that comes new changes.

Suzanne O'Brien (aka our Fairy Godmother) has also decided to take on some new challenges in her life.  After 20 years with Hope & Cope, 14 as Executive Director, Suzanne has decided to retire, but as all fairy Godmothers do, they somehow always make sure that their presence continues.
Suzanne is now the new Chairperson of the Board of Hope & Cope and thanks to her incredible compassion and understanding of young adults with cancer, she will continue to be involved in various events for YA's.  Suzanne will continue to attend support groups, retreats, ClubMets weekends and fundraisers.
We wish Suzanne all the best as she takes on this new role.

Denis Raymond, a familiar new face at
CancerFightClub

You might already know this aspiring 30-year-old social worker, currently doing a Master of Social Work at the University of Ottawa. A love of Montreal has brought his friendly face to Hope & Cope, where he will be doing his internship over the winter months! As a young adult cancer survivor, he "gets it". You'll be able to catch him at one of CancerFightClub's meet-ups, hanging with the guys in the Bro's Club and supporting various hospital programs, among other things. Be sure to say "Hi!"when you see him.

We say goodbye and thank you to Karen Malkin-Lazarovitz, who worked with Hope & Cope for 16 months as our coordinator of special projects, which included our brand new CFC web site, launched last September.  With her boundless energy and hearty laugh, we could always count on Karen to make us smile. Karen continues to host her BRCA support group here in Montreal and to pursue her wonderful work with this community, so don't hesitate to reach out to her.
