Shaker Library is collaborating with the Cleveland Public Library Digital Library on a project that allows Shaker residents to make free digital copies of their home's historic blueprints.

2018 Landmark Commission Preservation Awards
Deadline is March 31
Preservation Award 2016
The Shaker Heights Landmark Commission established its Preservation Awards program in 1998 to recognize and highlight efforts by property owners who have preserved and improved their properties. Exterior projects completed after April 2015 are eligible. Nominations may be submitted for any building in Shaker Heights, including homes and apartment buildings, commercial buildings, and other structures.

Submissions will be accepted online through March 31. Winners will be announced this fall. Learn more or view past winners .
Landmark Commission Approves Grant Application
18520 Winslow
The Landmark Commission approved a grant application to the Ohio History Connection at their January meeting. The Planning Department will submit an application for $15,000 in partnership with the Cleveland Restoration Society (CRS) to make improvements to 18520 Winslow Road. This property was recently donated to the City by Nationstar Bank. The City and CRS will work together to stabilize the distressed property and sell it to a new owner.

The Cleveland Restoration Society's Heritage Home Program offers a range of services that help repair, maintain, and rehab your older home, while retaining architectural features and increasing your home’s value. If you live in a Shaker home that is at least 50 years old, there are a number of free services available to you, including site visits, paint color consults and review of contractor estimates.
