Delray Medical Center Achieves Healthgrades Distinguished Hospital Award for Clinical Excellence
|
Delray Medical Center has received the
2018 Distinguished Hospital Award for Clinical Excellence™ from
Healthgrades, a leading online resource for comprehensive information about physicians and hospitals. Delray Medical Center is one of just four hospitals in the country that have achieved this clinical excellence for 16 straight years. The distinction places Delray Medical Center in the top 5% for clinical performance among nearly 4,500 hospitals nationwide.

From 2014-2016, patients treated in hospitals receiving the Healthgrades Distinguished Hospital Award for Clinical Excellence had, on average, a 26.3% lower risk of dying (across 19 procedures and conditions where mortality is the clinical outcome) than if they were treated in hospitals that did not achieve this distinction.

Jim Moran Heart & Vascular Center at
Holy Cross Hospital in Fort Lauderdale are now performing the WATCHMAN procedure, which provides an alternative to oral blood-thinners for the treatment of atrial fibrillation.
The first WATCHMAN procedures were performed at Holy Cross by
Rishi Anand MD, FACC, FHRS and
Daniel Weitz MD, FHRS. "Both cases were successful, and both of the patients were discharged the following day," said Dr. Anand. "This procedure aligns with our mission of providing the most leading-edge technology to give patients the options they deserve."
