How to Use the Website Member Directory
Did you know you can look up other members’ phone numbers and email addresses at our website?
It’s easy. Go to ChaiVillageLA.org and log in. (If you have trouble logging in, call our Webmaster Sue Rosenblum at 310-842-8413.)
On the menu bar running across the page, put your cursor over “Contact” and then “Members.”
That will open up a search box. You can either type in a member’s last name or a member’s first name (don’t type the full name). Click search and you will see the results. You can even click on the member’s email address and send an email directly.
Many members have added their photos to the member directory which is very helpful. If you would like Sue Rosenblum to add your photo to your directory listing, just email a picture to SusanSRosenblum@gmail.com.

When is it permissible to speak about someone who isn't there? When is it forbidden to spread information about another person - whether it is true or not? Incorporating the teachings of the Chafetz Chaim (
the
Jewish "Bible" about gossip), Rabbi Aaron will explore the subtleties of what is considered in Jewish tradition to be one of the most dangerous of human behaviors, "Lashon Hara" (the evil tongue).

|
Film Screening -
The Plot Against Harry
Wednesday, February 7, 6:30 - 9:00 PM
Temple Emanuel - Weinberg Auditorium
8844 Burton Way, Beverly Hills

|
Movie night is back! Please join us for a screening of
The Plot Against Harry.
Small time racketeer Harry Plotnick is freshly released from prison to find his barely legitimate business struggling to keep afloat. The film, which features a priceless cast, deadpan sense of humor, and a wonderful sad-sack portrayal of Harry, captures a lost world of the Bronx in the mid-Sixties.

One state solution? Two state solution? Status Quo?
In reality, the Israelis and the Palestinians must ultimately learn to live together and to respect one another. In this compelling iEngage presentation, Rabbi Dr. Donniel Hartman explores the disagreements which have torn the Greater Jewish and Israeli community apart. Rabbi Hartman will examine the sociological categories of pluralism, tolerance, and deviance. He will suggest how the diversity within our Jewish communities can create strategies of acceptance and belonging.
Rabbi Joel Levine will moderate a discussion following Rabbi Hartman’s presentation.

The vast majority of adults want to remain in their homes and neighborhoods as they get older, but sometimes this takes a supportive community. ChaiVillageLA is a vibrant, multi-synagogue, multi-generational community that enables congregants to age in place in their own homes by providing assistance to one another and enriching each other’s lives, as part of a self-governing village supported by Jewish values.
