Bike Boulevard Neighborhood Meetings and Community Events Calendar

Recommended Improvements

Community Outreach meetings to be held in 3 neighborhoods starting tomorrow @ 6:30 PM!

 - Merritt/Portal - Sept 25th

 - East of Creekside Park Neighborhood -  Oct 2

 - East of DeAnza Blvd and City Hall Neighborhood - Oct 9

The Cupertino City team is currently working on four major elements of its Master Bike Plan, the:
  • Cupertino Bike Boulevard Network;
  • East/West Bike-way on McClellan Road  to Barnhart Ave;
  • 280/Junipero Serra Trail;
  • Bike/ped facility along the Union Pacific right-of-way.

Of these important initiatives, we feel the Bike Boulevard Network will have a bigger and quicker  impact on the safety and ease of biking/waking for our students and local resident community.  We also feel that these improvements are less costly, complicated and can be implemented much faster than the other projects in process.  The major elements of the plan will include better street signage and markers along with features that could dampen traffic speeds - the main contributor to cyclists not feeling safe on our city streets. If you live in the nearby neighborhoods - and would like it to be safer and easier to walk and bicycle - please plan to attend and give the city team your feedback.

From the graphic below, you can see which outreach meeting serves your neighborhood and school.  Please try to attend!
