Re-Enrollment, Course Selection,
& Tuition Assistance
At York Catholic, we are grateful for your partnership with us in the education of your children who bless our community everyday with their talents. Please read the following information thoroughly as it contains important information regarding course selection, re-enrollment, and tuition assistance for the 2018-2019 school year.

Course Selection
Junior High
Junior High students received a list of courses for 2018-2019. Please review that list with them, provide the necessary parent signature, and return the course selection form with your 7th or 8th grade student by tomorrow, Friday, February 2.  Junior high students will register for courses online during computer class in early February.

Senior High

Senior High students should be talking with their subject level teachers regarding appropriate course selection for 2018-2019. Beginning Monday, February 5, students in grades 9 through 11 will have access to the online course selection portal in MMS. This will remain open for three weeks. During this time, students should select their courses for next school year. After completing the process online, students are instructed to print the course selection sheet and have each of their teachers sign next to the desired subject courses. A parent signature is required as well. These forms will be due February 23, 2018.

Parents, please take the time to click here  to review our course catalog for next school year. We are excited to be offering two new courses to include Women in Science, and Biology 1.5. We are also looking forward to the return of Journalism as an English elective.

An additional change in the academic schedule next year for both Junior High and Senior High involves the move to a static schedule. Currently all courses rotate across an 8 day cycle. Next year, we will move to a 6 day static cycle and all major courses will be offered at the same time daily.

Re-enrollment
In an effort to prepare for the budget and enrollment numbers for next year, we have aligned the re-enrollment process with our course selection once again. Tuition figures for next year will be published in early April after budget approval by the School Board. In order to budget appropriately, we are asking families to re-enroll now. The early re-enrollment fee is $150.00 per student.  After February 23, 2018, the re-enrolment fee will increase to $200.00, with an increase to $250.00 after April 6, 2018. As in the past, $150.00 of the re-enrollment fee will be applied to your child's 2018-2019 tuition.

Tuition Assistance
Our Advancement Department continues to work hard with our donors to increase tuition assistance opportunities for our students. If you plan to apply for assistance, please be sure to do so no later than April 17, 2018. If you require assistance in completing this application, you may make an appointment with our Business Office Manager, Ms. Heather Dougherty, March 20 or March 21, at [email protected] or 717-846-8871 x215.

Again, we thank you for choosing York Catholic and we look forward to a continued partnership with your family next school year.
Parent Referral Program
If you know a friend, family member or anyone looking for a high-quality, Christ-centered education for their children who do not already attend a Catholic school, you could receive a $50 credit toward your child's tuition at York Catholic, with a chance to win a $500 credit.

York Catholic's Parent Referral Program is a win-win for everyone involved. Referred students receive an outstanding education from York Catholic, while parents of the referred families get peace of mind knowing their child is gaining so much more than just a top-notch education.  Families who refer someone who registers at York Catholic receive a $50 credit towards their child's tuition.

You, as parents, are our best ambassadors.   In order for the Parent Referral Program to be a success, we need information about individuals who may be interested in joining the York Catholic family. All you need to do is click here to fill out the form. During the registration process, if you are listed as the referring individual for a friend or other enrolling individual, we will credit your child 's account with $50.  In May, one family who referred someone who enrolled at YC will be randomly selected to win a $500 tuition credit.

It really is that simple. So go ahead. Please click on the link above and allow us the opportunity to do what we love - help to develop, nurture and encourage children so they may grow in faith, mind, and heart. Mail or email the form to us and we will take it from there!

Thank you for all you do for our school!
York Catholic Fund
As we move forward into the new year, we continue to reflect on all of those who have helped to make our successes possible in 2017. Thank you to our YC families, alumni, faculty and staff, corporate sponsors, community partners and friends for your kind and generous support of the York Catholic Fund (YCF). Donations to the YCF come in all sizes, from near and far, through special events or simply with a postage stamp attached, and we are truly grateful for each and every one. You help us to close the gap between tuition and the actual cost of educating our talented and inspiring students. You also enable us to invest in a vibrant curriculum, technology upgrades, the arts and athletics, resources for our valued teachers, and the beautification and safety of our school.

Thank you to Donna (Crimmins) Hoffman '72, who has eagerly and graciously stepped into the role of York Catholic Fund Chair. With Donna's guidance and passion, we are excited for the possibilities that lie ahead. There is no better time than this month when we celebrate St. Valentine, to tell you how much we love our YC family and to thank you for your continued devotion.

Congratulations to the following students who auditioned and were selected to participate in the York County High School Honor Band Festival (left to right): Moses Krueger (tenor saxophone), Mason Kovach (trumpet), Patrick Farrell (percussion), Lexi Zambito (clarinet), Nicholas Gingerich (alto saxophone), and Katelyn Danczyk (flute). These students will perform in the York County High School Honor Band Festival Concert on Saturday, February 3, at 2:30 PM at Eastern York High School.  Tickets are $7.00.
Inclement Weather
During inclement weather that would cause a school closing or delay of schedule, York Catholic will call/text/email you through our One Call Now Emergency Notification system.  Other modes of notification include WGAL TV-8, Fox43, and the YC website.  Students from individual school districts are automatically excused if their district closes and does not provide transportation to YCHS.  The exceptions to this are Southern and Southeastern.  These students follow York Catholic's delay and closing schedule.
