Town Operations Review Proposes Over $6 Million in Savings
The Town of Palm Beach staff has completed the Comprehensive Review of Town Operations (CRTO), as requested by the Town Council in October 2017. As a result of this expedited, yet thorough process, Town staff exceeded the Town Council's goal of $5.42 million in sustainable budgetary reductions in order to direct those savings to the Town's Retirement Fund.

Palm Beach Plans New Rock Groin for Beach Erosion 'Hot Spot'
The town plans to build a new rock groin to trap sand at a badly eroded "hot spot" at the south end of Midtown Municipal Beach. A beach access point at the east end of Gulfstream Road, at the south end of Midtown, has been taped off and marked "posted" because the wooden stairs leading down to the beach have washed away.

Palm Beach's Northern Shore Thickened with Free Inlet Sand
The northern tip of the town's shore has been fattened with more than 200,000 cubic yards of sand dredged from within and near the Lake Worth Inlet. Weeks Marine, a contractor for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, began dredging in early December and finished the work on Jan. 10, Coastal Manager Rob Weber said this week. About 235,000 cubic yards was dredged from the entrance channel.

Temporary Southern Blvd. Bridge to Open in Spring, 2018
Construction of the new temporary bridge over the Intracoastal at the Southern Blvd. Bridge is in full-swing as you can tell from the many cranes on barges at the site. "The Southern Blvd. Bridge Replacement Project is proceeding on schedule," said Angel Gardner, Community Outreach Specialist.
