Message from our President
Well, the year is off to a great start. On January 25th
the Melville Chamber of Commerce held its annual "Welcome to the New Year Celebration" featuring our businesses of the year awards, at Heritage Club at Bethpage
Before mentioning the individual awards that were presented, I want to give special thanks to a few people who made the evening the success it was. First is Valerie Boris, Steve Kirschbaum and the entire staff, who graciously offered the guests hors d'oeuvres and a sumptuous buffet prior to the awards presentation. Also, Bob Seidman, of Par-T-Shots, Inc. Photography, who took a generous number of photographs, in Mike Azzato's absence can be seen on our official website:

Our guest speaker for the evening was The Honorable Steve Stern, Suffolk County Legislator, who represents the 16th Legislative District
. He discussed the challenges facing legislators as they try to make and enforce laws which will help improve people's lives while at the same time helping businesses generate commerce in the surrounding area.
The Melville Chamber of Commerce presented the following awards:
- Business Advocate of the Year - Suffolk County Legislator Steve Stern
- Non-Profit of the Year - Dawn Neilson - The American Red Cross
- Business of the Year-Media - L.J.Rainey of Cox Media Group
- Business of the Year - Community - Merrill Zorn of Zorn's of Bethpage
- Young Professional of the Year - Phillip Scott - Small Business Solutions

Of course, no Melville Chamber event comes to fruition without the tireless efforts of our Executive Director, Ted Macaluso. Thanks to the Chamber Board and Chairman Mark Catapano for their work at our monthly Board meetings and help setting the policies for our Chamber.
And finally, my special thanks to all the members who make the Melville Chamber what it is. Without you, there is no Chamber!
So, as we celebrate the first of many flagship events coming up this year, just a reminder for everyone that we have many events planned in 2018, both breakfast and after-hours, and I look forward to seeing you there!
Warm regards, your President, David M. Gustin
