Trump administration to allow states to enforce work requirements for Medicaid

Meridith McGraw reports, for ABC News on 1.11.18, that "The federal Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) today released new policy guidance that allows states to enforce work requirements on the millions of low-income people who receive Medicaid."

Brad Woodhouse of pro-Obamacare group Protect Our Care called the guidance the latest move in the Trump administration's 'war on health care'.
CMS Administrator Seema Verma touted work requirements as a way for people to improve their health by participating in society.

Viral Video: University of Maryland hospital under fire for patient dumping

Andrea McDaniels and Meredith Cohn bring us disturbing news, in a Baltimore Sun article dated 1.11.18, reporting that "The University of Maryland Medical Center's top

executive apologized to a patient who was discharged and found on the street wearing only a thin hospital gown and socks outside its midtown facility, calling it an isolated incident."

"The hospital was thrust into the national spotlight and social media erupted with outrage after a viral video showed security guards leaving a disoriented woman from the University of Maryland Medical Center Midtown on the street, barely dressed, when the temperature was in the 30s," according to the authors. "It's the latest hospital across the country accused of a practice known as 'patient dumping' or 'hospital dumping' in which patients who are homeless, mentally ill or both are released to the streets."
