GEOGRAPHY BEE
Each year, Mrs. Grace Weissmann coordinates our Geography Bee. This year's Geography Bee took place on Friday, January 5th. The goal of the competition is to motivate our students to know their geography.

Congratulations to our winner Aviva Steen
and to our runner ups; Naomi Kreymer and Perri Hyatt!

Here is a sampling of some of the questions that were asked:
a)      Which state has a humid sub-tropical climate?
b)      The Appalachian Mountains run through which state?
c)       Which carnival ride was first introduced at the Chicago World's Fair in 1991?
d)      The area known as Polynesia, which is made up of more than 1000 islands, is located in which ocean?
DRAMA CLASS
Our 7th grade Drama classes performed The Princess and the Pauper, under the direction of their teacher, Mrs. Sora Gross. Each week, the classes honed their acting skills and practiced for their performance while having wholesome fun. The culmination was an outstanding performance enjoyed by their mothers and schoolmates.
I SPY WITH MY GR8FUL EYE
In keeping with our theme of Investigate with Gemach 18, Gemach launched a new program called "I Spy With My Gr8ful Eye."

Mrs. Shuli Frand spoke to the girls explaining that grateful people are happy people and the more we recognize the good we have the happier we become. Each girl received a gratitude "spy journal" to write down the many things they are grateful for. Throughout the three weeks of this program, the girls were encouraged to write three meaningful 'thank you' letters.  The girls also filled up a bulletin board sharing the many things they are grateful for.

A special "mission accomplished" bracelet was given to the girls who participated.  Girls who have earned enough bracelets will be rewarded with a special trip at the end of the year!

GEMACH BULLETIN BOARD COMMITTEE
Every few weeks, the girls on the Gemach Bulletin Board Committee   use their talents and creativity to create a beautiful and inviting display in the Sinai Bikur Cholim room. This bulletin board was created by Mrs. Laure Gutman A"H and we feel so fortunate to continue her legacy. Enjoy our latest display!
