February 21-22 - Evergreen Park http://growingthenorth.com

Date: National Flag Day February 15, 2018
Time: 10:30am
Place: Oliver's Funeral Home - 10005 107 Avenue - Grande Prairie
RVSP by February 13, by calling Liesa at 780-532-2929
Oliver's Funeral Home believes in the importance of the Canadian flag as a symbol representing the free, democratic nation in which we live.

There's no doubt our flag is significant - it is an emblem of peace to the world. But what happens to an individual flag when the trials of time have worn it down? If the flag hanging outside your business, organization or school must be replaced, we feel the old flag deserves to be treated respectfully.

We invite you to bring your retired Canadian flags to Oliver's Funeral Home.

You can bring your retired flags to us at any point during the year. Each year, on Feb. 15th - the anniversary of the maple leaf flag's first flight over Parliament -we will honour the flags and their service as symbols of justice and freedom in Canada. We will lay the flags to rest in a plot donated by the City of Grande Prairie Cemetery. Members of the Royal Canadian Legion Colour Party will be present to assist in marking a solemn moment.

There is no cost for this service. We simply want to apply proper protocol and appreciation for our nation's flag on behalf of our community. Honouring our veterans is another important part of this. We at Oliver's want to pay tribute to the brave men and women who fought to defend our Country and everything that the flag represents.

We will give our nation's flag the respect it deserves on behalf of our community. That is our promise to you.
