2018 PIT and HIC Report Submission
Congratulations on completing the unsheltered Point in Time Count last night! Now, we begin the HMIS count of sheltered clients on that night by running Point in Time and Housing Inventory Count reports. Your work on these reports helps the CoC accurately count who you serve on a typical January night and what beds are available to the community.

Data Center staff are available to support your review, correction, and submission of this data for our first HUD report of the year!
PIT and HIC Report Submission Process
This year's reports are going to follow the same process as last year's PIT and HIC. All data is based in HMIS and submitted for each HMIS project. If it's broken out in HMIS, reports should be run separately since each project has it's own inventory.

Steps for Submission:
  1. Run PIT/HIC reports in ART - video trainings here
  2. Review both for accuracy
  3. Work with the Data Center to make corrections
  4. Upload reports online using the Data Center PIT/HIC Submission Form
  5. Data Center then reviews submission - we will contact you if corrections are needed!

Your deadline for submitting clean, corrected, accurate reports is February 21, 2018.
HMIS Reports for the Point in Time Count (PIT) and Housing Inventory Count (HIC)
HMIS Participating Agencies will run PIT and HIC reports in HMIS, clean the data for accuracy, and submit these reports for the night of January 31, 2018 to an online form by February 21, 2018.

Just like last year, each agency will need to submit separate reports for each project in HMIS. Different reports are required based on the project type.

The list of reports needed for your projects and video trainings for how to prepare the reports are available online: http://www.ncceh.org/2018pit-state/
What's new with PIT and HIC this year?
Housing Inventory Count Changes

  1. VA GPD Component types have changed with the 2017 Data Standards (right)
  2. VA Contract Residential Services also has VA:CRS included in Additional Federal Funding Sources
Point in Time Count Changes

  1. Gender Identity has a new option, "Gender Non-Conforming"
  2. Survivor of Domestic Violence question refers only to clients who are homeless because they are fleeing domestic violence

All changes for this year's PIT and HIC correspond to changes in HMIS for the October 2017 Data Standards. Reports have been updated for you and no additional action needs to be taken by agencies.
