2018 MAAR and SPAAR presidents share overview of Twin Cities residential housing market
The Minneapolis Area Association of REALTORS
® (MAAR) and St. Paul Area Association of REALTORS
® (SPAAR) held their annual joint press conference on Tuesday, Jan. 23.
Kath Hammerseng and Man Huynh, 2018 presidents of MAAR and SPAAR, respectively, shared highlights with local media from the 2017 residential housing market and insights into what to expect this year.

Mid-Winter Fest is Saturday, February 3, in Apple Valley!
SPAAR and SPAAR's Community Engagement Committee are partnering with Apple Valley Parks & Recreation to sponsor Mid-Winter Fest.
This partnership is supported with a SmartGrowth Grant from the National Association of REALTORS® (NAR). In 2017, SPAAR polled Apple Valley residents to report on park use-and park development. At Mid-Winter Fest, SPAAR will communicate results of this polling.
Want to help? Three to four volunteers are needed to staff SPAAR's table at Mid-Winter Fest, which runs from 10am to 2pm. Contact Joe McKinley at SPAAR at [email protected] if you are interested in helping out.

Emerging leaders in real estate sought for Washington DC scholarship opportunity
Are you relatively new to real estate and interested in representing your industry and your association at this year's Midyear Legislative meetings in Washington DC? If yes, SPAAR is now taking applications and would like to hear from you.

SPAAR's Professionalism Committee is offering a $2,000 scholarship to attend.

Take part in the Blue Star Mothers "We Care" Collection Drive
Now through March 2, 2018, SPAAR's Community Engagement Committee is sponsoring the third annual Blue Star Mothers "We Care" Collection Drive. The committee is collecting packaged snacks and toiletries for "We Care Boxes." These are care packages that are sent to members of the military.
Please help by displaying a poster or hosting a drive in your office. Items can be delivered to any SPAAR Office. For a list of suggested donations, please visit SPAAR.com. Bulk donations or cash donations to defray shipping expenses are welcome.

Be a SPAAR Hero in 2018
SPAAR is now accepting SPAAR Hero applications for the new year.
SPAAR Heroes are members who are involved in their communities in many ways. If you or someone you know deserve to be recognized as a SPAAR Hero, we want to hear from you!
The recognition program awards one recipient each month for his or her community involvement, which includes $250 to donate to the cause or organization he or she supports.
