SCS Employees,
Thank you for being flexible and understanding during the recent period of inclement weather. Safety is always our top priority, but we recognize that closing schools and offices creates unique challenges for each of you.
One challenge that affects all is the financial impact associated with weather-related breaks. Per Board policy (4061), non-exempt employees shall receive regular compensation for all days the District is closed due to inclement weather up to a maximum of three (3) days. However, in an effort to minimize the financial burden on you and your families,
the Board and Superintendent Hopson approved a plan to compensate all school-based employees for all recent inclement weather days (January 12 and 16-19).
Central office employees will only be compensated for January 12 and 16, when all District offices were closed. Central office employees who elected not to report to work January 17-19 will need to charge the days to their vacation bank.
Again, we thank you for adapting to all of the sudden announcements and schedule changes over the last week. If you have any additional questions about these decisions, please contact the Compensation team
here
.
We appreciate your continued hard work and look forward to a successful second semester.
