Spiritual Literacy:
Recognizing the Sacred in Each Other and Everyday Life

Based on the Spiritual Alphabet developed by Frederic and Mary Brussat, this seven-week series will explore spiritual practices that cultivate our ability to see the sacred in our midst. Such practices are not the property of any particular religion; instead, they are the basis of a healthy spiritual life for people of all religions, those of no religion, and those who consider themselves "spiritual but not religious." This series is open to everyone.

Mouaz Moustafa to Speak at the Lslamic Center, Feb. 9th.

Mouaz Moustafa was born and raised in Damascus before moving to Arkansas as a teenager. He is currently the Executive Director of the Syrian Emergency Task Force (SETF), the central office of which is located in Washington DC. In the past two years, many Arkansans (Episcopalians among them) have worked with Mouaz and SETF on humanitarian projects in war-torn Syria. Two such projects are the Wisdom House School (a preschool for children) and Tomorrow's Dawn (a women's center). Mouaz will be speaking at the Islamic Center of Russellville (2001 W. Parkway)) on Friday, February 9th, at 3 pm. All are invited to attend.
Storage Clean-up

LET"S TRY AGAIN!  An end of the year sorting and rearranging effort planned for the All Saints' storage area was delayed so we could focus volunteer energy on the recent renovation of the two nursery rooms. On February 1 at 9 am we plan a second attempt at gathering to work together and clean out the big storage room that opens off Sutherland Hall.  All those who have items stored in that area are invited to join the team and help make that space safe and useful once again.

If you can't come help on that Thursday, February 1 please label stored items that are important for your ministry and/or speak to Sue Hastings-Bishop, Suzanne Hodges, or Carolyn McLellan about how to best preserve and access your supplies.

Join us on Sat. Feb. 3 for our weekly meal served from 12:00-1:00 PM

Thanks to those whose generosity helps us serve delicious, nutritious meals every Saturday.  We continue to welcome newcomers to Neighbors Table nearly every week.  Please remember Neighbors Table in your prayers.

Volunteers are welcome to join the teams on Saturdays from 9:00 AM until 2:00 PM or for a couple hours during this time to help prepare food, serve or clean up after lunch.  Schedules and dates are listed on the sign-up white boards in Sutherland Hall.  Anyone with questions or would like to serve in other ways contact Sue Hastings-Bishop at [email protected] or by phone 231-349-3671.
