... however, it's still cold & flu season
|
|
H-F's nurses - Mrs. Parker (North) & Mrs. Kemp (South) - would like to remind the community that influenza (flu) is all around this time of year. In fact, the state of Illinois is currently No. 2 in the country for most reported cases of the flu. Your best defense - besides getting your flu immunization - is to wash your hands frequently with soap and water and to limit close contact with those exhibiting flu-like symptoms. People infected with flu may be able to infect others beginning one day before their symptoms develop and up to 7 days after becoming sick. If you get sick with flu-like symptoms, the Center for Disease Control recommends that you stay at home for at least 24 hours after the fever is gone, except to get medical care or other necessities.
