Online Report Cards 
Report cards will be available online on Monday, January 29.   
2018-2019 Tuition
Mrs. D'Angelo sent a letter home to all families on January 3 regarding the 2018-2019 tuition adjustments.  The letter can be viewed in the link below.
     
Survey - New Courses for 2018-2019 School Year
We are in the process of determining new courses for next year and would appreciate your input. Please take the survey and provide your preferences as potential course options in our curriculum for next year.

Basketball Night - Grade Schools
On Thursday, January 25, SBA will hold its annual Basketball Night for Grade Schools at 5:15 PM in the gym. SBA plays Nazareth Academy and all grade school girls are invited to attend the game and participate in our halftime door prize awards ceremony.  After the game, join our players, coaches and school administrators in the cafeteria for pizza, snacks and drinks.   

Mini-THON Grade School Dance
Saint  Basil  Academy will host a dance for 6th, 7th and 8th grade students Friday, January 26 from 7 to 10 pm in the AP room.  The cost is $10 and proceeds benefit our Mini-THON, which raises funds for childhood cancer research.  We look forward to seeing you!    

Jenkintown Community Band Concert
The Jenkintown Community Band is excited to perform a winter concert of "Beauty and Exhilaration". The JCB will perform "classical jems" by Strauss, Tchaikovsky, Holst, Frecobaldi and more.
The concert is free and will be held at Saint Basil Academy on Sunday, January 28 at 7:00 PM.
A free will donation will be taken during intermission.
Come out and support this wonderful ensemble and be inspired by the music!
State Representative Madeleine Dean - Presentation on
February 15, 2018.
As part of our Women Empowerment Speaker Series, State Representative Madeleine Dean will present at SBA on February 15 at 1:30 PM. Representative Dean was elected in 2012 to represent Pennsylvania's 153rd Legislative District. She brings with her three decades of experience as a lawyer, writer, and teacher.

Within her role as state representative, Representative Dean sits on several committees, including Appropriations, Judiciary, Policy, Urban Affairs, State Government, and Finance, of which she is Vice-Chair. In addition, she was appointed by Governor Tom Wolf to sit on the Pennsylvania Commission for Women, and was recently elected Chair of the House Democratic Southeast Delegation, comprised of 22 members representing nine counties.

Counseling & College Services
Seniors:
Seniors whose colleges are requesting mid year grades need to indicate that on
Naviance.  If you have any questions and/or concerns, please see your counselor.
Mid year transcripts will be sent when all grades have been processed.

Seniors:
As you receive your college acceptances, please bring in your letters of acceptance and any merit/scholarship awards to the Counseling office.

Free SAT/ACT Prep Week
Start prepping for the SAT/ACT now with our Free SAT Prep Week. Students can get a baseline score with a practice test, learn time-saving strategies in our Bootcamp, and sharpen their reading and math skills before the big test. Session seats are limited, so please register early: 
AP Tests:
All AP test money is due.  When making a payment please make all checks payable to Saint Basil Academy.  If you wish to pay by credit card, please pay on the SBA website .  SBA will charge $94 per exam.  

Drama Club
Hairspray
SBA will be performing Hairspray April 13-15, 2018.   If you would like to sponsor the show by placing an ad click the link below .  Cast members will be expected to purchase advertisements for the show.

There will be a Parents meeting following the rehearsal on Saturday, January 27 at noon to discuss requirements for Hairspray such as schedules, costumes, etc.


Summer Service Trip
If any current students are interested in participating in a service trip to West Virginia from July 22-28, please see Miss Violi as soon as possible for an application and information packet.

Parents' Club
Gift Donations
If there are holiday gifts you have received that you do not need, please consider donating them to the Parents' Club to be used in raffle baskets for Night at the Races and our upcoming Mother-Daughter event.  Please do not send any holiday themed gifts and mark you donation 'Parents' Club-NATR'.

Night at the Races
Night at the Races is Saturday, February 10  from 7 pm to 11 pm.  Doors open at 6:30.
Tickets are $25 in advance and $30 at the door. You may also click on the links below to buy event tickets, horses, lotto tickets, or to become a sponsor.  Event is open to the public, but you must be 21 to attend.   Please spread the word to family and friends!

Night at the Races Volunteers Needed
There will be a meeting for volunteers on Thursday, February 1 at 7 pm in the All Purpose room.   Click on the link below to volunteer for a slot.   If your name is already on the list, please be sure you are registered with your email address so you get the notifications.  Thank you!


**Lucky Lotto tickets in conjunction with Night at the Races will be sold online and at the general meeting on January 11.  Tickets are limited.  The prize is $1000.**

Volunteering
Please return the yellow volunteer forms that were handed out at Back to School night.
The  volunteer form is also available on the  SBA website .  We are asking that each family volunteer for at least 2 events this year.  A list of activities is on our webpage. There are student related events, Parents' Club events and Development  events. We have amazing people in place in Admissions, Development and Leadership.  Let's give them all the help we can.

Designer Bag Bingo
Come out to SBA on Sunday, February 25 for Designer Bag Bingo!  Doors open at noon and play will begin at 1 pm.  Extra games and 50/50 games will be available.
