In 2018 our Doctoral Writing and Research Methods class will be hosted by a member of the Ubiquity Board, Aftab Omer, President of
Meridian University located in an historic mansion in charming Petaluma California, 33 minutes north of the Golden Gate Bridge. Our class meets in the "Carnelian Room". We recommend two unique hotels in the historic center of the town - both walking distance to our class site (

Built in 1923, this is the primary hotel in the center of the old town of Petaluma.

COST: Rooms with one queen bed are $120 (1-2 persons) and room with 2 queen beds are $136 ($68 each if double occupancy). For double occupancy please either specify your roommate if known or notify our
University Registrar Stacy Newman that you are seeking a roommate and
ask the hotel to hold a twin room for you while you seek your roommate.
The lobby and half the bedrooms have been recently renovated (as of 9/2017) and they aim to have all rooms renovated by the end of 2017. All rooms are non-smoking and have wifi and private en suite bathrooms (typically with shower, rarely with bathtub). Fitness center is available offsite for free.
Check in is 3pm, Sunday April 8, 2018.
Check out is the morning of Friday April 13 - though our class continues until 12 noon nearby.
