JKHA and RKYHS played a role in several community events this week for
Yom HaZikaron and Yom Ha'atzmaut.
On Wednesday, Rabbi Rubin was the keynote speaker at a Yom HaZikaron/Yom Ha'atzmut joint event of the Orthodox shuls in West Orange, Livingston, and Springfield. The evening was capped off with a performance by our third grade choir.
On Thursday, JKHA eighth grade girls performed a beautiful daglanut display at the Yom Ha'atzmaut celebration at the Livingston oval. RKYHS students also led interactive games at a booth at the event.
In Lower School Library classes, students are exploring the magic of poetry as April is National Poetry month. After hearing poems from a variety of children's poets, they tried our 'hands' at writing poems focused on the sense of touch. Students wrote a title in the 'palm' of their poem and a feeling word on each 'finger'.
JKHA/RKYHS moms came out for an evening of exercise and fun at Fit 36 in Livingston! Thank you to Shawn Tarzik and Deborah Rinn for organizing such a successful event for PTC! If you are interested in planning an event for PTC, please contact [email protected]
