One Step Ahead of Cancer

Ashkenazi Jews have a one-in-forty chance of inheriting a BRCA gene mutation that puts them at high risk of developing cancer that can be prevented or detected early.

Synagogue Council is proud to team up with two initiatives dedicated to raising awareness and supporting genetic testing and cancer  research.  OneinForty
educates about about the Jewish-cancer connection and what can be done to detect and prevent cancer early. Click HERE for information about the Seminar on May 23.

The  BRCA Founder Outreach (BFOR) Study is coming to Boston!  BFOR will offer free genetic testing for BRCA genetic mutations to about 1,000 Massachusetts residents of Ashkenazi descent over the age of 25.  The pilot phase of the study launches in March.
