Cabin fever? Your library is a great cure! Besides the awesome books and fun children's areas at each library, the Shakopee Library has an indoor play and learning area called the
Smart Play Spot that was designed for us by the Minnesota Children's Museum. It's available during all Shakopee Library open hours and makes a great free outing.
Please note:
Libraries are closed
Friday, March 2 for staff training.

First Step STEM events for preschoolers kick off March 13!
Engage your child's natural curiosity at the library with exciting pop-in events featuring preschool-friendly Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math activities! Activities could include sending objects through a wind tunnel, programming a code-a-pillar, or creating a gear set! All events are free and open to the public and take place at each library this spring and summer.
First Step STEM events are funded in part with a grant from the Minnesota Department of Education using federal funding, CFDA 45.310 - Library Services and Technology Act, Grants to States Program (LS-00-17-0024-17).
Readmobile Visits begin!
We are excited and proud to introduce this great new tool for delivering learning, literacy, and fun to Scott County communities with visits to community organizations, early childhood sites, and special events. Check the Readmobile page for more information and the schedule of visits.
The Readmobile vehicle and start-up collection were funded by the Diane J. Sachs Trust and a grant from the Shakopee Mdewakanton Sioux Community.
