With the concertina, bodhran, mandolin, octave mandolin, guitar, and banjo, Emery Hutchins and Jim Prendergast sing and play this traditional Celtic music, but they also perform American country music in the way it was conceived in the early twentieth century. Through stories, songs and instrumental melodies, they demonstrate how old time American mountain tunes are often derived directly from the songs of the Irish, yet are influenced by other cultural groups to create a new American sound. Sponsored by NH Humanities, this program is free. Light refreshments served.

Join us March 24th at 11:00 AM as we unveil the Library's National Register of Historic Places plaque and celebrate 118 years of service to the community. The day will begin with a talk by Historian Margaret Gaertner entitled "
Thomas Silloway: Architect of the Conway Public Library." Margaret will lead a tour of the building, highlighting its various architectural features. An unveiling of the plaque will follow. Light refreshments served.

The tragedy of the WIley slide, that claimed the Wiley family in 1826, brought national attention to the White Mountains for the first time.
Learn about the early history of the White Mountains and the WIley Slide from Rex Wiley, a registered guide and 9th generation
mountain native. He is a local historian having read
extensively about the White Mountains and still
remembers the stories his grandmother told him about
the area. He is descended from families who made their
homes in the mountains and built the covered bridges in
