School Smarts
Families had a fun time at our School Smarts Parent Engagement Night and learned about a great opportunity to be part of the upcoming School Smarts Parent Academy where they will learn more about the education system and strategies to better help their children succeed.
Join us for our first School Smarts Parent Academy session this Tuesday, October 10th from 6:30-8:00 pm in the Walnut Grove library. Childcare and a light dinner will be provided. Please contact Shajil Kammili

Reflections Art Program
Artwork submissions are due this
Friday, October 13th. You may turn in your child's artwork to the office along with the appropriate paperwork no later than 3:00pm Friday. Unfortunately, anything turned in after that date can not be accepted as the judging process will begin.
Please join us on Monday, October 16th at 6:30pm as we celebrate each child's entry in a small celebration held in the multipurpose room. Each child will be recognized for their entry(s). The top winning entry from each category will then be moving on to the council level celebration held at the Firehouse Art Center in December.

Monster Mash
The Monster Mash will take place on Friday, October 27th from 5:00-8:00pm. This year will be bigger and better than ever! The event will be outside with tented carnival games, an old fashioned cake walk, food, cotton candy, popcorn, Cool Beads Ice Cream (like Dippin Dots), a DJ, an inflatable slide, face painting and more!
We are in need of some donations for cake walk baked goods and volunteers to help out at the event. Please

There is no cost for entry to this event, or to play games, but 100% of the proceeds for the purchase of Cool Beads Ice Cream, cotton candy, popcorn and the cake walk will go directly to the Rockport Hurricane Relief fund.

Red Ribbon Week
Red Ribbon Week will be the week of October 23rd through the 31st. At Walnut Grove, we will celebrate Red Ribbon Day on Wednesday, October 25th where we will promote healthy living, making good choices, anti bullying and being drug free. More information will be provided in the near future, but in the meantime, if you'd like to learn more about Red Ribbon Week, visit the

Spelling Bee
3rd-5th Graders - Register for the Walnut Grove Spelling Bee!
The Spelling Bee is coming to Walnut Grove on
Tuesday, December 12th at 4:00 pm in the Multi-Purpose Room. It is open to all 3rd through 5th graders.Could this be your first step to the Scripps National Spelling Bee?? Come give it a try.

PPIE is rolling out the red carpet for Night of the Stars - our Fall Gala to celebrate with friends and raise funds for critical staff at YOUR school.
