Lake Sunapee Young Professionals are now part of LSRCC
The Lake Sunapee Young Professional Network is an organization designed to foster career growth, relationships and community. Recently joining forces with the LSRCC, the LSYPN is working to offer a combination of business after hour events, educational series and volunteer opportunities. They also work closely with NH's Stay Work Play initiative, focusing on bringing in and retaining young talent to meet business employment demands. However, the name of the group name is misleading: LSYPN encourages attendance by those of all ages, realizing that individuals with many years of work experience offer a wealth of knowledge and connections that can benefit those looking to grow. If you are interested in learning more, visit their
Facebook page or
contact the chamber.

The Lake Sunapee Region Chamber of Commerce Annual Meeting, held at Colby-Sawyer College on Jan. 9, was attended by 100+ Members, and local and state officials.
EVERSOURCE sponsored this year's event, which is an
opportunity for important conversation, comradery and community.
Special thanks to Governor Chris Sununu for attending the dinner, speaking to the region's business leaders about the coming year in the state of NH, and local workforce development issues and initiatives.
We were very fortunate to have Tym Rourke as the keynote speaker to discuss the addiction crisis we face in NH and to share information about trends in the state and resources for employers and individuals alike. Rourke is the director of
New Hampshire Tomorrow, from the NH Charitable Foundation.
LSRCC President Sarah Christie reviewed 2017 chamber activities, which include successful events like the Black Fly Open and Chamber Night at Hospital Days as well as many Business After Hours and the four-session Business Growth Series.
The annual meeting attendees unanimously approved the slate of Directors. Returning for another term (through 2020: Sarah Christie, Lorie McClory, Dan O'Halloran and Karen Zurheid.
2017 Community Business of the Year was awarded to TopStone Barber Co. for their generous support of youth sports and education programs as well as underwriting arts programs. The crew participated in area events such as Strawberry Festival, the Hospital Days parade, Halloween, and Ladies Night to name only a few. TopStone has created a space for community connection - and a great haircut!
