Grace: It's Our Way of Life
|
|
As Episcopal Christians we
Worship at home daily and together weekly;
Study the scriptures, our tradition, and what it means to be a disciple today;
Serve our families, our parish, and our world in the name of Christ. Everything we do is done with an ethic of
Welcome because we are only here by Grace.
Where have you welcomed, worshiped, studied or served?

Voice of the Vestry
by Bill Smith
January is a difficult time for many of us. The bright lights, family time, and festivities of Christmas are replaced by the long, cold, and, at times, dark winter days. As a youngster growing up in Traverse City, I actually loved the snow and cold - playing outside on snow piles that seemed like mountains. It was a quiet and simple time.
Until recently, as an adult, January became a time when I became very disciplined and trained for cross country ski races later in the month and for the click here to continue reading

During the Interim time we will have the opportunity to use prayers which have been authorized by General Convention or are being considered for use in the church and will be brought to General Convention. I prefer to do this during a season rather than moving from Sunday to Sunday. During Epiphany Season, we will be using the confession, the third Eucharistic prayer, and the post-communion prayer from Enriching our Worship. These resources "assist worshipping communities to expand the language, images, and metaphors used in worship." At the end of the first two readings, you will hear the lector say: Hear what the Spirit is saying to God's people. Our response continues to be: Thanks be to God. During this time we will also be introducing some service music that might be new to you, I encourage you to be open to trying something different as a way to enhance our worship experience. As always, I am open to hearing your thoughts about liturgy and worship.
Blessings,
Kathryn+

What's Happening at Grace?
What's Happening in our Diocese?
Turn in your Oleson's receipts to benefit the Grace Food Pantry!
Oleson's Community Share Program
Here's how it works:
- You shop at Oleson's for groceries (liquor sales do not qualify for points)
- Turn in your receipts to the church. Look for the envelope on the bulletin board in the Parish Hall, and place your receipts inside it.
- We submit receipts back to Oleson's
- We are granted cash rewards for the food pantry ($1 spent on groceries = 1 cent in Community Share points)
For every $5000 in receipts we submit, we receive $50 in cash for our food pantry. Every little bit helps!
Thank you for participating!
