Marchalik Appointed Medical Director of Physician Wellbeing for MedStar Health
Daniel Marchalik, MD, MA, has been appointed medical director of physician wellbeing at MedStar Health. Marchalik is on the medical staff at MedStar Washington Hospital Center as faculty in urology. As the course director for the Literature & Medicine track at the School of Medicine, he authors a monthly Literature to Medicine column in the Lancet and a monthly Literature and Medicine online column in the British Medical Journal. Marchalik is currently enrolled in the MedStar Health Teaching Scholars program.

A new study that seeks to better ascertain HIV mortality rates in Zambia could provide a model for improved national and regional surveillance approaches, and ultimately, more effective HIV treatment strategies. The work was conducted by a team of researchers co-led by Charles Holmes, MD, MPH, of Georgetown University Medical Center's Center for Global Health and Quality and Georgetown's School of Medicine.

Programs will address spirituality, social justice, the arts and education, in addition to opportunities for meeting and becoming acquainted with individual Jesuits, including
