Dear Students, Parents, Grandparents, and Staff,
Well, March is approaching this week! Spring is right around the corner and the temperatures are hopefully on the rise! I almost am fearful to say anything like this because it might send us back to snow and ice!!! We have to think positive and believe Spring is on its way! We also are into our Lenten journey and approaching Easter in about a month. We have plenty of time to reflect, renew, and refresh our hearts and souls to be on the path with God. It is not too late to start reading a book, attend a spiritual seminar... God is calling you to join Him! I am reading a book about finding joy (many thanks to the person who gave it to me!) It has been a very interesting read! Check out the parish's website for the upcoming date and information on the Hope and Healing Mass. Also, today in the Wednesday Envelope the students will be receiving a letter from Bishop Rhoades and a Rice Bowl. This is a wonderful opportunity for them to put their spare change and other monies to go towards Catholic Relief Services. We will have all the students turn in their Rice Bowl collection on March 28th! Also, Fr. Dave will be speaking to the students on March 2 at the All School Mass about using their student envelopes every Sunday. All of our children will receive Sunday envelopes on March 2 to use every weekend! This is a great way to be wonderful stewards of their faith! They can write on the envelope some of their talent that they share throughout the week and put some of their treasure in the envelope! Stewardship in action!!
An update on school safety- Mr. Slee who is head of our safety team will be meeting with our entire school safety team to review our school safety plan. He also will be meeting with two State police officers, one who specializes in school safety plans. We are continuing to do practice drills, such as fire, tornado, and man-made drills (lockdowns and lockouts). Feel free to review the Standard Response Protocol (SRP) which can be found on our website under Current Families and then Safety.
In today's Wednesday Envelope is a draft of the 2018-2019 school calendar. We do not have all of our dates in this calendar; however, we do have many initial dates that are important to our parents! As we add more dates, we will update the calendar and send home revisions!
Finally, it is almost time for our Seton Night Live! March 10th will soon be here! It is not too late to get your tickets. Contact Sarah Shively at [email protected] for all the information or call the school office at 432-4001. We would love to see all of our parish and school families there to celebrate our school! It is an awesome night!
Have a peaceful Lent!
