The Just Read, Florida! Office and the Florida Department of Education (FDOE), in partnership with other FDOE offices, school districts, state organizations and agencies, are joining forces for the 10th annual statewide Celebrate Literacy Week, Florida!, scheduled for the week of January 22-26.
Celebrate Literacy Week, Florida! is an annual event during which students, teachers, administrators, parents, and volunteers celebrate books and the importance of students engaging in regular reading, not just in the classroom but also for personal enjoyment. The goal of Celebrate Literacy Week, Florida! is to promote literacy and excellent reading habits in Florida students.
The theme of Celebrate Literacy Week, Florida! 2018 is "Find Yourself in a Book!" With this year's theme, students are encouraged to read a book and share with their parents or a friend the connection they made to a character or event in the story.
