Wayside teacher honored by
Saginaw Area Chamber of Commerce
Tracy Stone Johnston, Algebra I and eighth-grade math teacher at Wayside Middle, was honored as Educator of the Year at the Saginaw Area Chamber of Commerce's Annual Awards Banquet on Friday, February 9, at the Speedway Club at Texas Motor Speedway.
The Educator of the Year is awarded annually to a teacher or administrator working in education in the Saginaw community. In addition to years of service as an educator, the award recognizes professional accomplishments, innovative teaching practices, positive impact on students and colleagues, awards and honors received, and dedication to the education profession. Community service and other activities outside of their daily role are also considered.

Transfer requests for the 2018-2019 school year can be submitted electronically through Family Access. Current EMS employees should submit the form for your children through Employee Access.

Proactive Steps to Combat the Flu
With the high number of flu cases in Texas and across the country, district health officials are reminding students, parents, and staff members to stop the spread by staying home if you have the flu or flu-like symptoms.

EMS ISD has partnered with Camp Invention for a one-week program, June 11-15 from 9 am-3:30 pm, at Willow Creek Elementary for children grades K-6. At Camp Invention, children are presented with fun, hands-on challenges that encourage creative problem solving, teamwork, entrepreneurship, and innovation.
