Street Sign Replacement Program
To meet Federal Highway Administration requirements, the Mount Pleasant Transportation and Public Services departments have partnered in a joint street sign replacement program. The capital improvement project will replace about 7,500 signs over the next five years. The Street Sign Replacement Program will include all street signs within the Town, with the exclusion of private roads and sideways. Existing signs will be removed if they are considered redundant or do not meet standards. Additional signs may be added where deemed applicable.

Visit the Riverwatch Café & Fishing Pier at Memorial Waterfront Park!
Part of the Memorial Waterfront Park complex, the 1250-foot long Mount Pleasant Pier stretches out into Charleston Harbor under the foot of the Arthur Ravenel, Jr. Bridge. The pier's foundation was created from pared-down pilings from the old Silas N. Pearman Bridge.
 Visitors can enjoy beautiful views of the bridge and harbor from the pier's bench swings and shade structures. Spring Yard Care Reminders

As you begin your springtime yard care, please remember to follow the tips below to minimize your property's environmental impact:

  • Limit or eliminate fertilizer use - always use a soils test and follow application rates;
  • Use organic fertilizers or amend soils with compost;
  • Use native plants; they require less to no fertilization and less irrigation;
  • Plant and maintain buffers along waterways;
  • Install rain barrels to capture rain water for re-use;
  • Install a rain garden to manage ponding water instead of piping;
  • Use pervious pavers and surfaces for driveways and pathways

Click HERE to learn more about these tips and how you can help keep our waterways clean and free of pollution.
