The Tiger's Roar!
Tildenville Elementary School, Winter Garden, FL
"A National Magnet School of Distinction"

Thursday, December 20, 2018

Principal Alvarez
There is no school for students on Friday, December 21. However, tomorrow is still a regular work day for our teachers as they compile student grades for the second nine-week quarter. Our campus, and all OCPS campuses, will be closed from December 24 to January 4 for the Winter Break. Classes will resume on Monday, January 7.

This issue is a bit extended as we have a number of "Tiger Happenings" that we want our school community to see. Plus, we have some thank yous to share. Believe me when I say how touched our staff has been at the many kindnesses bestowed on our elementary school this holiday season (see below). Thank you so very much.

If you are traveling over the holidays please remember to buckle up and drive safely on the busy roadways. On behalf of the Tildenville Elementary administration and the Alvarez family, Season's Greetings to you and yours.

In Tiger Pride,

Agathe Alvarez
Proud Principal
Tildenville Elementary School

Pictured very top: Thank you to all OCPS Police Department, the Orange County Sheriff's Office, and all the other local law enforcement agencies that assisted with our practice drill earlier this month. We greatly appreciate all of your efforts to keep our Tigers and the staff safe at all times!

Morning Mile Club News
Morning Mile is held every day, except Wednesday, starting at 8:15 in the morning. Students are encouraged to come out and either walk, jog, or run laps to get going to start their day. We've had 126 students in total participate and they track their laps and mileage on our new EZ Scan app. So far the students have run over 274 miles!! That's a great job for all our participating students! It's never too late to sign up and come out in the morning to get some exercise.

* Participation forms can be found in the front office with Ms. Zepeda.

Please take a little time over the winter break to read a good book with your child.
Thank you!

Most popular books with our Tigers this fall:

The "Diary of a Wimpy Kid" book series

The "I Survived" book series

The "Geronimo Stilton" book series

The "Dork Diaries" book series

The "Captain Underpants" book series

Second grade students recently attended a performance of the Orlando Ballet Nutcracker. Our Tigers were very excited and enjoyed the performance. Thank you to the Orlando Ballet and OCPS for making this event happen for our students!

This holiday season, kindly take a moment to remember our troops deployed overseas that will not be coming home to be with their families. Thank you.
