Used Soccer Ball Donation request:
Two years ago, on a Christmas family vacation to the Las Terenas in the Dominican Republic, we took 25+ old soccer ball we had accumulated over the years with us. Our plan was to find some aspiring soccer players and see if they we’re interested in putting them to good use. The response was overwhelming. Within 5 minutes of arriving at local playground, we had over 50 youngsters begging for balls. Our only regret was seeing the disappointment on the faces of the children who showed up after we had exhausted our supply of balls… We stayed for over 2 hours and played with some extremely excited players who now owned the first soccer ball of their lives.
This year we are returning to the same small fishing village on Dec 23rd. Our goal is to bring over 100 balls with us and redo the giveaway. We also plan to take any slightly used soccer shirts we can collect with us. Since Tim Bupp and I exhausted our supply of used balls during the last excursion, I need help in collecting balls and shirts and would appreciate any donations.
