Thinking of Taking the SAT or ACT Test This Spring?

If your child is a junior in high school, you should definitely consider taking the test for the first time this spring. The next SAT test is on March 10th, and the next ACT test is on April 14th. It's always a good idea to take the test multiple times, with gaps between testing dates so you have time to get the scores back and review the score report.

A big piece of performing well on the SAT and ACT tests is becoming familiar with the format. No matter how well you perform in school, taking a timed test in such a foreign format takes some getting used to. Testing this spring enables you to retest in May or June, and then again in the fall if necessary. Because many students take AP or SAT II Subject tests as well, it's important to plan far enough in advance so that you can optimize your scores and have time to learn from your mistakes.

New Semester, New Strategies

Now that the spring semester is underway, your child should have a sense of the difficulty of each class and how well they're keeping up.

* Is your child finding it challenging to keep up with assignments and manage their time, projects, and school work?

* Does your child lose materials, miss assignments, or have difficulty keeping track of large projects?

It's just as important to have strong study skills and organization as it is to understand the academic subject matter. It is impossible to achieve good grades if your child is always anxious about keeping up and staying on top of things.

We have tutors available to assist your child with all aspects of study skills and organization. If your child is diagnosed with Executive Functioning Delays, we also have Special Education Certified tutors.

Is Your Child Going to Take the ACT or SAT
Test this Spring?

Plan for your child to take a standardized test at least twice to give them the best chance of a high score.

The next SAT will be March 10th and then May 5th.
The next ACT will be April 14th and then June 9th.
Our tutors have been fully trained in the new content
and test-taking strategies of both the SAT and ACT tests. We focus on time-management and customize our instruction to meet the needs of each student.

If you are not sure whether your child should take the SAT or ACT, please see the article below.

SAT vs. ACT: Choose Wisely

We often see students who feel more comfortable with one test over the other, so if you have the time to start early, we can create the best action plan for them moving forward this spring.
