February 9, 2018

Dear Columbus Academy Families and Friends,
Weaving a Community , the 2018 Celebrate the Arts talent and arts showcase, is tomorrow (Saturday, February 10)! We have a one-of-a-kind exhibit currently in our gallery that you won't want to miss, and we're beginning tomorrow's event with a reception to highlight these works by world-renowned ceramicist Toshiko Takaezu.

Please join us for this fun and creative evening. Here are some details to help you plan your night:

Saturday, February 10, 2018

6:00 PM -- Morris Hall Gallery doors open for The Art & Life of Toshiko Takaezu on the second floor and an Academy community exhibition on the ground floor. Don Fletcher, the current proprietor of the Toshiko Takaezu Studio and a student of Takaezu's from her days teaching at Princeton University, will be in the gallery to talk about the 35 works of Takaezu's on loan for our exhibit.

7:00 PM -- Dining Hall doors open, and dinner/cocktail hour begins.

8:00 PM -- Parent/Faculty Talent Show begins with Michelle Schroeder and Dan Olexio as emcees.

CHILDCARE -- There is no childcare being offered at this event, so please do not bring any children as this is an adults-only evening.

TICKETS -- There are no physical tickets. If you ordered tickets online in advance, your name will be on a list at check-in. You can purchase tickets for $35 at the door or online by clicking here.

DINNER -- Food (heavy appetizers) and drinks (beer and wine) will be available immediately upon entering and are included in the cost of your ticket.

ATTIRE -- Casual attire is great, or get creative with it!

DETAILS -- On the map below, the Morris Hall Gallery is on the second floor of building 10, which has a glass façade facing the Lazarus Courtyard. The Dining Hall is in building 9, and you should enter through the main doors that face the courtyard and Morris Hall. Because of a sectional swim meet, the best place to park will probably be to the right of building 8 (Upper School).
