Tampa Bay Times: Jabil will rebuild its existing St. Petersburg headquarters instead of moving near the Trop  
   
After looking at options from moving near Tropicana Field to relocating to Singapore, Jabil executives said Monday the company's headquarters aren't going anywhere, but will be rebuilt and expanded on its existing site in St. Petersburg's Gateway area.
 
St. Petersburg Mayor Rick Kriseman likewise was thrilled with the news.
 
"We have been working for years to keep Jabil in St. Pete," Kriseman said in an emailed statement. "Gateway is an area of focus for us, and it is comforting to know that Jabil will be there for the long term."

Tampa Bay Business Journal: Inside the deal that kept Jabil in St. Pete  
   
Mark Mondello, CEO of   Jabil, is on the road 40 weeks out of the year, visiting Jabil's 100 locations in 29 countries, many of them "great places," he said.
 
But as Mondello and other Jabil leaders debated about where to build new headquarters for the electronic service company, he kept coming back to one thing: St. Petersburg is home.

The Weekly Challenger: Mayor honors Black History Month 
   
Mayor Kriseman stated that one of the highlights of his first term was being a position, with the support of city council, to purchase the land that the Woodson Museum sits on. That purchase last year will ensure its continued existence in the community.
 
"This city is committed to providing the Woodson with a proper space, one that allows the museum to flourish and grow," he said. "We are dedicated to making the space bigger and better and truly treating it like the gem that it is."

Tampa Bay Business Journal: St. Pete city officials tout new mixed-use developments in store for Skyway Marina district 
   
St. Petersburg's Skyway Marina District on the Southside will get a boost this year, according to city officials.
 
In an email blast distributed Wednesday, City Development Administrator   Alan DeLisle  said two new mixed-use developments are on the way.

Spring is near, so too is the 2nd Annual Pig & Swig Fest at Albert Whitted Park! On April 20, the Gulf to Bay Food Truck Association will gather the best food trucks in all of Tampa Bay for an event catering to those with serious savory cravings. The event will also feature live music (performer TBA) and a selection of brews and sweets for those with an adventurous palate. Gourmet trucks include: Cravings Donuts, Softee Th King, Got Lobstah, PB & Jelly Deli, Maggie on the Move, Better Than Eve's BBQ, Just Smokin BBQ, Mr. C's Grilled Cheese, Soul Food Street Kitchen and more! The event will run from 6-11pm and is free to attend on Friday, April 20.

Tampa Bay Business Journal: St. Pete City Council takes a position on regional bus rapid transit 
   
St. Petersburg City Council offered its unanimous support for the Regional Premium Transit Feasibility Plan to create a 41-mile bus rapid transit route from its city to Wesley Chapel through Tampa.
 
St. Pete Mayor   Rick Kriseman  also offered his approval during the Thursday meeting.
