The Show Starts Now
Our High School Youth
Cloud Cult has a song entitled, "The Show Starts Now," which is one of the sources for this service. With all that's going on in the world, we need to remember to come back to ourselves and live in the moment. Join our youth for a service that encourages and challenges us to ground ourselves, one day at a time, one step at a time, one moment at a time.
This Week in Religious Education: Earth Centered Traditions
Our Spirit Play classes will learn about our Yellow UU promise, Yearn to Learn. World of Wonder (Preschool) will hear Frog and Toad; The Garden. Roots and Wings (Kindergarten-2nd grade) will explore Small Fry.  Curiosity Club (3rd grade +) will learn about Imbolc from a member of our Earth Kin group.
Our 11:15am Harry Potter and UU will attend the Youth Led Service.
The High School Youth will be leading our worship services this Sunday.
For the month of February, we will be singing the children out to their classes with " 'Tis a Gift to Be Simple," Hymn #16 from the grey hymnal, Singing the Living Tradition. This Shaker tune is also known as Simple Gifts. Families might appreciate this link which has the music and lyrics, so you can become more familiar with the song at home.
This Sunday!  Find your calling at the Getting Involved Fair!
February 11, 18, and 25 we will hold our biannual Getting Involved Fair in the Fellowship Hall. This is an opportunity to find U.U. groups and activities that excite you! Each  Sunday a different mix of groups will be available to offer information about their group, and a member of each group will be present to talk with you. This is a great opportunity for newcomers, and long time folks too.

Calling all COOKIE BAKERS!  Reproductive Justice Wants You!
The Reproductive Justice Task Force is holding a Once-A-Year Bake Sale on  Sunday February 11th, just in time for Valentine's Day!  Please bring your cookie offerings to the kitchen on the 11th, in time for us to sell them back to you after each service that morning!  THANK YOU!
Standing on the Side of Love Annual Bake Sale February 11
The Reproductive Justice Task Force will be having their yearly pre-Valentine's Day bake sale after each service on Sunday, February 11.  Please join in the fun by creating and buying goodies for a good cause! This is one of our largest fundraisers of the year and it's so easy to contribute; have a sweets making party for one or invite friends or family to help.  We gratefully accept items dropped to the kitchen as early as possible that day for prep if not sale-ready.  Questions? Contact Deborah Meader, deborahmmeader@gmail.com
Our Folks...
Lynne Gilliatt and Susan Savastuk are showing their pastels and oils at Lennie's during the month of February. Stop in and support local artists and a local restaurant!
LAST CHANCE! January Religious Education Intersession Survey
We hope your child enjoyed the January Intersession this year and learning about Sophia Lyon Fahs. We would sincerely appreciate it if you would complete this brief survey online.

An Opportunity to Call Our Senators
About First Use of Nuclear Weapons
The Union of Concerned Scientists recently wrote about the new Nuclear Posture Review Policies and how they could encourage nuclear war. The current Republican administration wishes to  broaden the circumstances under which it would use nuclear weapons first in an armed conflict. More info here.
You may wish to call our Senators to let them know your thoughts on this. Phone calls are more effective than letters, cards or petitions. Senator Donnelly's Washington number is (202) 224-4814; his Indianapolis number is (317) 226-5555. Senator Young's Washington office is (202) 224-5623
Also, please encourage them to support two key bills related to this problem: Senator Ed Markey's "Restricting the First Use of Nuclear Weapons Act," S.200, and Senator Chris Murphy's "Preventing Preemptive War in North Korea Act," S.2447.
Snacks Needed for Planned Parenthood Patients
Our Reproductive Justice Task Force provides snacks and beverages for patients and their loved ones accessing abortion services at Planned Parenthood Bloomington each week, so they don't have to leave the building while they are waiting, and walk through a sea of anti-choice protesters. We invite you to donate individually wrapped, single serve snacks like granola bars, bags of pretzels, cheese and crackers, etc. No spicy snacks, please (can create upset stomach). Also welcome are small water bottles and juice boxes. Donations may be placed in the basket under the social justice table in the Commons. Thank you!
Parking Options on Sunday Mornings
Our parking lot is often full on Sundays, especially at the second service. For those of you in good health and sure of foot, it would be wonderful if you could park on Jordan Avenue, or across the Bypass at Marching Hundred Hall (former Church of God), or across the street on the paved areas west of Fee Lane, to leave room in the lot for those who can't make the hike. This opportunity is especially helpful during winter weather.
Snow Emergencies and Event Cancellations at Church
When travel conditions become hazardous after snowfall or ice storms, please always check our home page,  www.uubloomington.org,  or our Facebook page,  www.facebook.com/uubloomington  or  www.wfiu.org  for updates on event cancellations or delays. If church services or other events in our building are canceled, this information will also be broadcast on radio at FM 103.7 and WTIU television.  Group Leaders: Please check your email often on snowy or icy days--administrative staff may be trying to reach you.
