Welcome Our New Baker!
Rachel
arcBARKS has a new addition to the team! Rachel has been learning many new skills while at arcBARKS. She enjoys coloring, watching movies, writing in her journal, cheerleading and dancing.
Rachel is looking forward to learning how to work with others as part of a team, use the cash register and interact with customers.
Our bakers have done an excellent job of acquainting Rachel the bakery and she has enjoyed getting to work with everyone over the past couple of weeks!
We're always looking for new ways to adapt our program in order to assist our bakers in learning and gaining independence. Here are a few of our recent modifications:
Daily Cleaning Tasks
In order to help bakers gain independence in knowing which tables they are responsible for cleaning at the end of the day, colored tape has been placed on the edges of the table that correspond with the task cards on their schedules. For example, if Michelle has a blue piece of tape on her table cleaning task card, she is responsible for cleaning the tables that have a blue piece of tape on the edges.
Peanut Butter Grinding
The baker who is assigned the task of grinding fresh peanut butter is responsible for ensuring that we have 5 bags of peanut butter ready for the following day. This worksheet allows bakers to cross off the number of peanut butter bags we already have in the fridge, if any, and helps them to keep track of how many there are left to make throughout the grinding process.
Each day, a baker is assigned the calendar task card. He or she will then utilize the worksheet above to identify and write the day of the week, month, date and year.
We're Hiring!

- We had a very successful holiday season in 2016! arcBARKS generated more income in December 2016 than we did in the previous December. Thank you for all of your support!
- arcBARKS Peanut Butter Barkers were temporarily unavailable at The Fresh Market the past few months. The company was in a period of transition while they were being bought-out by Kroger. However, we are excited to announce that our treats are back on the shelves at the Lawndale, Highwoods & Wilmington locations, with potential to be sold in more stores in the future!
- arcBARKS was also featured in a video through our partnership with the UNCG Bryan School of Business, which has generated both business and event opportunities. Check out the video below for more info and feel free to share it on social media!
- Are you following us on Facebook & Instagram? We post photos and videos several times per week! Click on the links below to access our accounts.
