DREAM BIG AND MAKE A DIFFERENCE!
This year's Community Service Project will be in association with RedEye Organization. We are teaming up with RedEye to help with the remodel of the Imperial Courts Recreation Center. The center is a safe and fun place for underprivileged youth to come after school and on weekends. Red Eye has asked the UCLA ASID chapter to help envision
a new state-of-the art educational, creative, athletic and job training facility for the youth, young adults and families of Watts.
The new center will be
adding after school tutoring, a computer lab and over 30 new Empowerment Center programs and courses such as Music, Theater, S.T.E.M., Virtual Reality, and Business Entrepreneurship - all catered to empowering the youth to their greatest potential!
We would absolutely love for every UCLA ASID chapter member to get involved! RedEye has asked the UCLA ASID chapter to focus on the computer lab at the center. They have the same desire for us that they do for these young kids -
dream big
! They want us to be creative, cutting edge, and outside the box. They have expressed so much faith in our group and are really excited to see what we are able to create for the computer lab.
This is an opportunity for students & alumni to use their incredible design abilities while giving back to a local community very much in need. Whether you want to help come up with the design vision, put together CAD / Revit renderings, paint, move furniture, or pick up supplies, we absolutely need volunteers!
If students or alumni have any interest in helping with this year's community service project, please contact
email Andrew Brick at

As current ASID LA Chapter President, Frank Slesinski has made great professional
strides since his 2009 graduation from the UCLA Extension ARC-ID Program. He splits
his time between LA and Palm Springs weekly (“usually 2-3 days [a week] in the
desert”), and his projects consist roughly of 80% residential, and 20% commercial. He
credits ASID with helping him get to where his is today, stating “it has literally shaped my career, connected me with wonderful colleagues and resources, and help put me on the map.”
