About 530 very cold party-goers, together with almost 100 wonderful volunteers, rang in 2018 at the Science Center of Iowa.
Attendance was lower than past years due to the frigid temps, but "a good time was had by all," says the event's lead organizer,
Doug Kinman
. Those who did brave the weather reported more room to dance, better parking spaces, and smaller crowds.
The Last Jedi
got rave reviews from both critics and fans. Lots of good food, dancing, music, fellowship, and AA and NA meetings made the night a resounding success, right up until the midnight countdown.
"We're so grateful to our volunteers &
hoping for more seasonable weather next year," said Powell manager
Kim Brangoccio
.

Powell CDC at the
34th Annual Festival
of Trees & Lights
|
Family Counselor
Kristin Hepworth
led the Powell team in putting together this beautiful project
.
Our staff room was abuzz over the lunch hour during the holiday season as many on the team made the ornaments.
The Festival benefits the Child Life and Advocacy programs at Blank Children's Hospital.
A wonderful cause
and
a good time - is there anything better?
