TRANSFIGURATION SUNDAY

Gentle Reader,

What dwells with in?  What more is there to you and me than people see?  What powerful, beautiful truths lie hidden beneath the surface of labels and assumptions, waiting for their moment to shine?   This Sunday  we celebrate the Transfiguration of Jesus, a momentary glimpse into Jesus' fuller identity - a shining moment of glory and spiritual connection that terrified the disciples.  But the story didn't end on that mountain, and because of Jesus, we too have a fuller identity, light, connection, power and beauty stirring inside.  Will we have the courage to let it shine?  Come and see!

This Lent St. Paul Lutheran Church invites you to join us in a spiritual discipline of de-cluttering!  Come learn more about this project  on Sunday .  The Journey begins Ash  Wednesday !
Do you love music?  Would you enjoy helping to shape the experience of  Sunday morning Worship?  Then Hymn Pickers may be for you!  Hymn Pickers is a worship team that meets quarterly to select hymns and liturgy for the  8:30 worship service. In order to keep the team diverse and energetic, each year we rotate one or two folks off and add new members to replace them.  This year we are looking for one (1) new member to join us in hymn and liturgy selection for the 2018-2019 school year. Passion for Jesus, music and worship are required.  Ability to read music is not. :-)  If you are interested contact Pastor Grant.

Our Count is still at #1 but no worries! We're ready for #2, #3, #20 and more!
Here are some ways you can help grow this ministry.
WAYS YOU CAN HELP.

a.        Buy fleece - we need 72" x 60 " (2 per blanket)
b.       Buy a similar sized ready-made blanket
c.       Donate money to those who are making blankets
d.       Volunteer to work at one of our blanket workshops - cutting and  sewing needed.   Dates to be announced.

CANCEL SIMPLY GIVING and CHANGING TO BILL PAY

The church encourages online giving.  At the same time, we are helping our congregation (and ourselves) find ways to lessen the charges that come from online giving.

Here is a great way to do so!

Log into your simply giving account and you can select to have the payments stop on a particular date.  Then you can go to your bank and set up BILL PAY for your ongoing giving.  So in effect, you will no longer do simply giving but give through your bank.

Let me know if this helped and when you have this set up.   Thank you for your loyal giving and for helping us be fiscally responsible.  Blessings!

"For our 150th Anniversary year, we want to purposefully measure the difference we make in our world.  You can see how wonderfully our ministries did in January in the above announcement.
Well, we want to celebrate all the lives we touch in big and small ways.  And we are asking you to count those blessings and get your numbers to the church council each month.

Our ministries should be focused on the good that we do for people-- in our congregation and outside of our congregation."    Shirley Zierke
