Full-Time Development Manager Position Now Open

Want to join the ACTA team? We are seeking our first full-time development manager ! We are looking for a go-getter who shares our mission, is willing to work independently and as a part of a team, and who wants to develop their fundraising chops in a lively, interesting organization. Historically, ACTA has been largely funded by private foundations and government grants and contracts. The task for the next development manager will be to maintain the current level of support and grow donations from individual donors. This is a unique opportunity to support the health, vibrancy, and evolution of California's diverse cultural traditions.

Bidding Farewell to Patricia Wakida,

ACTA Development and Donor Engagement Manager

In January 2019 we will be saying goodbye to our dear Patricia Wakida, ACTA's Development and Donor Engagement Manager. Since 2016, Patricia has played a key role in informing ACTA's many proposals, grant applications, and online communications as a liaison between our many partners, community members, and affiliated artists up and down California. She has held and informed ACTA's first dedicated development position, and is currently at the helm of our 2018 end-of-year campaign. Patricia is also an accomplished print-maker , storyteller, and mother of three-year-old Kumi. We will miss her open heart and collaborative spirit, and we wish her the very best in all her endeavors. Thank you Patricia for your service to the arts!

National Endowment for the Arts Grants for Organizations: Guidelines and application materials for three NEA funding categories--Art Works, Challenge America, and Creative Writing Fellowships--have been posted on the NEA website.

Grants for organizations support exemplary projects in artist communities, arts education, dance, design, folk and traditional arts, literature, local arts agencies, media arts, museums, music, musical theater, opera, multidisciplinary works, theater, and visuals arts. Projects may be large or small, existing or new, and may take place in any part of the nation's 50 states, the District of Columbia, and U.S. territories. California Civil Liberties Program: The California Civil Liberties Public Education Program (California Civil Liberties Program) is a state-funded grant project to sponsor public educational activities and development of educational materials to ensure that the events surrounding the exclusion, forced removal, and internment of civilians and permanent resident aliens of Japanese ancestry will be remembered so that the causes and circumstance of this and similar events may be illuminated and understood.
